About 2 months ago, my mother and I were out to dinner, having a few glasses of wine, when out of nowhere I joked with her and said, "Mom! You should definitely make an Unfiltrd page. I bet there are so many people that would subscribe". Obviously this was just a joke, but what gave me the biggest shock was when my mother, after her 2nd glass of Chardonnay giggled and said, "I'd do it". No, we were not planning on make a "mother, daughter Onlyfans". Instead we would try to set her up on Unfiltrd, a much more discreet and easier to use alternative. I couldn't believe the words that came out of her mouth. I warned her not to say anything she didn't truly mean, and she said she meant it. So naturally, being the headstrong person that I am, I went home that evening and helped her set up her Unfiltrd page.
The very next day, after the effects of the wine wore off, my mother called me in a little bit of panic. She was worried about this page and how it could possibly affect her job and her personal relationships. I told my mother that this page would be a safe place for her because it is discreet, and that she would never have to post anything she was not 100% comfortable with. This page could offer people who are fans of mine, a glimpse into my mother's world, and give them the ability to chat with her. I have over 10,000 followers on Unfiltrd, and many of them know my mom from reality TV, or my social media posts. I felt that having my mother on the platform would be a cool novelty for a lot of my fans. We decided to give it a shot, and if it didn't work out, no problem - my mom had other means of income. This was truly experimental!
Her first month on Unfiltrd she posted never before seen selfies, photos of her outfits, stockings, high heel shoe collection, and a few cute pictures in some new lingerie. I honestly thought this was so cool to see my mom do, because for the past 10 years my mother has been a very self conscious person. I felt that by doing this sort of content, it has brought her out of her shell, and she feels a lot sexier and more confident! It's also nice to see that as a creator, you truly can do things on your own terms, and not show any amount of skin if you are not comfortable - AND still make money! Afterall, people aren't always subscribing for your body, they're subscribing for your personality and because they are curious! My mother's page was definitely feeding a lot of peoples' curiousities!
After about 2 months on Unfiltrd, my mom's page has made enough to cover her car payments and help fund her shopping addiction! She loves that she has an extra source of income, and that it is something fun she can do in her spare time. She loves how discreet Unfiltrd is, and the fact that there is no stigma behind the name (as is with Onlyfans or other similar platforms). An added bonus is obviously the boost of self esteem and new found sexiness! For my mother, who is in her early 60's, that's definitely something she would have never expected to happen in this way.
So I guess the moral of the story is, if you're wondering if you can do something like this for a means of income or just added income, the answer is YES! Regardless of your age, the way you look, or level of experience with this, earning money on Unfiltrd IS possible! Obviously my mother has benefited from that fact that I am her daughter and already have an established online presence, but she also has a very specific, targeted niche which has helped her. The key is to have a niche, a target demographic, and to just go for it! So many people spend too much time weighing the pros and cons and doubting themselves, and this ultimately holds them back from success. In the end, I hope that my mother's story can be a little bit of inspiration and motivation for you to take the leap, take risks, and have more fun!
